Americana, folk, rock and roll - Kate Redgate is a powerhouse singer, songwriter and performer. Born an orphan from rural Southern Illinois and a veteran of hard times, Kate is a practitioner of determination and traveler of a lot of miles. A single mother, she has spent the majority of her career cobbling together a living in whatever manner necessary to take care of her two (now grown) children. A finalist in the legendary Kerrville (TX) Folk Festival NewFolk songwriting competition, she is also the recipient of several national and international songwriting recognitions, has shared bills with singer/songwriter luminaries (such as Richie Havens, Ramblin Jack Elliot, John Gorka, Lori McKenna...), and with her 25 years of experience can masterfully hold court in a folk club alone with her guitar just as easily as fronting her rock and roll band on a big stage.
NEW RELEASE coming fall of 2022, Kate's first new full length recording in over a decade. Produced by her guitar player/band mate and co-writer Jon Nolan, this recording also features longtime band members Rick Habib and Mark Paquin. Stay tuned for release dates - and single release coming summer of 2022.
